What to order now that the cult beauty brand ships to Canada.

If you’re tapped into the beauty beat (or even if you’re not), you’ve most likely heard of Glossier, the cool-girl skincare and makeup brand that’s the brainchild of Emily Weiss, the founder of the beloved beauty site Into The Gloss.

Since the brand launched in 2014, it’s earned a cult-like status in pretty much record time. With a curated line of 25 skincare and makeup essentials, the brand celebrates real girls — no heavy-duty Instagram makeup, just good, clean beauty. And it doesn’t hurt that the products are made by editors who have tested their fair share of products and know their way around a beauty counter. Building a strong, inclusive community and creating a global beauty movement that celebrates individuality, the brand has garnered a ton of worldwide buzz, even though its products were only officially available in the States. So, unless you had a hook up in the US of A, you were out of luck. Until now.

Fortunately for us, Glossier recently started shipping to Canada, meaning you can now shop to your heart’s desire and have any (or all!) of the brand’s sought-after skus shipped right to your doorstep. The only product currently not available north of the border? Invisible Shield, the brand’s sunscreen that is still awaiting approval from Health Canada. With any luck, it will be on its way here with the rest of the line in the next few months.

Wondering where to start? We got our hands on a few of Glossier’s best-selling products and can happily report they are worth every bit of hype. Here is a selection of our top picks for your shopping pleasure.

The Multi-Use Balm

One of the OG products that started the Glossier craze, this balm does it all. Rub this salve on dry cuticles, lips or skin for an instant hit of soothing hydration. Available in six flavours, our faves include Rose and Coconut, but Birthday with its subtle shimmer is inching its way into our hearts.

Balm Dotcom, $15 at glossier.com.

The Cleanser

This face wash not only works as a cleanser when used on wet skin, but also makes for an A+ makeup remover when massaged onto dry skin. And yes, it’s safe to use on your eyes, as the formula contains the same ultra-gentle cleansing agents found in contact lens solution.

Milky Jelly Cleanser, $22 at glossier.com.

The Blush

One of the newer additions to the line, this gel-cream blush gives you just the right amount of colour. What promises to be the most user-friendly blush out there, it’s sheer and buildable, so you just have to rub a couple dabs onto the apples of your cheeks with your fingers and — voilà! — you’ve got a healthy, super-natural flush.

Cloud Paint, $22 at glossier.com.

The Lipstick

If you want that just-kissed lip look without dabbing and blotting your lipstick, look no further than Generation G. The sheer, matte lipstick gives lips soft, diffused colour, but in an innovative matte texture. It’s a must for any lipstick lover. Our go-to pick is Jam, a deep berry hue.

Generation G Lipstick, $20 at glossier.com.

The Highlighter

We know beauty shelves are overflowing with highlighters, but this one really does rise above the rest. Available in three shades — Topaz, a bronze hue, Quartz, a soft pearl, and Moonstone, a silvery opal colour — each is infused with actual crystal extracts (for real) and hydrating heavyweights like coconut and sweet almond oil for a perfect glow with just the right amount of shimmer.

Haloscope, $27 at glossier.com.
