The best of what’s landing on store shelves this month.

Floral Fixation

Fall isn’t just the season for fashion, it’s also a good time to switch up your summery scent for something a little more autumn-appropriate. Enter Gucci Bloom, the first fragrance since Alessandro Michele has stepped in as creative director at the famed fashion house. Housed in a powder-pink porcelain bottle, the floral-heavy scent blends notes of sambac jasmine, orris root and tuberose. It also contains rangoon creeper, a South Indian flower that lends the scent a soft, powdery aroma.

Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum, $114 for 50ml at Sephora.

Lash Love

If you’re in the market for a new go-to mascara, look no further than Urban Decay’s latest magic wand. Troublemaker Mascara has an easy-to-use silicone brush with different-sized spikes to grab even the smallest of lashes, but what really makes this mascara stand above the rest is its layer-ability. While most mascaras get flakey and clumpy after two or three coats max, this formula builds like a dream, leaving lashes full, thick and separated, but still soft.

Pucker Up

Taraji’s second Viva Glam lipstick collab with MAC is a total departure from her previous matte fuchsia shade that launched in February. This time around, her colour of choice is a rich, coppery brown with a shimmery, frosted finish. While the shade has plenty of sparkle on its own, you can up the glitz by layering Taraji’s matching golden bronze Lipglass over top. As with every Viva Glam purchase, every penny goes to the MAC AIDS fund which helps men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

MAC Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson II Lipstick, $22 at maccosmetics.ca.

Scalp Soother

Sure, we’ve all tried scrubs on our face, but IGK takes the beauty of exfoliation and brings it to haircare. The brand’s new walnut-based scrub works to soothe irritation and purify both the scalp and hair. If your head needs a little TLC after too much heat styling or post steamy summer months, massage this paste into your roots and rinse once the exfoliants have melted away. You, and your head, will be left feeling cool, calm and refreshed.

IGK Low Key Cleansing Walnut Scalp Scrub, $43 at Sephora.

Rosy Glow

This luxe, radiance-boosting face cream puts a skincare twist on the rose-gold trend. Containing a blend of white rose fresh cells, vitamin C and (yes) 24-carat-gold technology, it works to hydrate and firm the skin while softening fine lines and wrinkles. Massage onto cleansed skin using the silicone sculpting tool, pushing the skin upwards for maximum penetration and a mini face lift.

Rodial Rose Gold Moisturizer, $275, available in-store at Murale.
