Five of fall’s most anticipated retail arrivals.

It may seem like new brands and boutiques debut in Canada every month, but not all retail launches are created equal. From beloved imports to homegrown flagships, here are the fall store openings our editors are genuinely excited about.

The Brand: Hunter
Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Toronto

The Buzz: If you’ve ever seen a photo of Kate Moss or Alexa Chung at Glastonbury, chances are they’re wearing a pair of Hunter wellies. The British brand’s iconic rain boots have always been easy to find, but we’re looking forward to shopping their colourful raincoats and waterproof bags in one spot when the first North American location opens in November.

The Brand: Moose Knuckles
Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Toronto

The Buzz: Montreal-based sportswear label Moose Knuckles will open its first permanent boutique next month in Toronto. If you’re the kind of person who likes to buy winter outerwear extra early, the brand is operating a customization-centric pop-up shop at the mall right now.

The Brand: Sugarfina
Burnaby, British Columbia

The Buzz: US-based sweets brand Sugarfina is slated to open its first Canadian standalone store in November. In the meantime, stock up on their addictive champagne gummies and maple bourbon caramels at Nordstrom and Swish.

The Brand: Restoration Hardware
Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Toronto

The Buzz: In October, home furnishings retailer Restoration Hardware will be opening its first RH Gallery concept in Canada at Yorkdale. Expect to find modern furniture, outdoor furnishings, and everything from craft beers to house-made doughnuts in the 70,000-square-foot space.

The Brand: Poppy Barley
Southgate Centre, Edmonton

The Buzz: This ethically manufactured, Canadian-designed footwear and accessories brand has hosted pop-up and temporary shops for years, but last month they finally opened a 1,000 square-foot flagship store in their hometown of Edmonton. Stop by to see the wares in person, pick up a cute pair of brogues, or get fitted for made-to-order boots.

If you don’t live in Alberta but want to shop Poppy Barley in person, stop by their pop-up stores in Ottawa (September 26) and Toronto (September 28-30). Click on the links for more information, or to book a fitting!
